sk:n open 49th dermatology clinic in Cardiff

sk:n, the UK’s leading medical skincare clinic group, has opened its 49th dermatology and medical aesthetic clinic on Charles Street, around the corner from Cardiff’s central shopping hub St David’s Dewi Sant.

In attendance was local radio presenter Kally Davies, who together with the clinic’s Medical Director and consultant dermatologist Dr Harryono Judodihardjo, cut the ribbon to officially open sk:n’s latest clinic offering. New and existing patients together with members of the local community were also in attendance to celebrate the opening of the new clinic and see what it has to offer.

The sk:n Charles Street clinic is a merger between its existing operation at the David Lloyd Health Club on Ipswich Road, which will close on 16th November 2018, and Cellite, an established aesthetic clinic that has been in the area for more than 20 years. Practitioners from both clinics, including David Lloyd’s clinic manager and Cellite’s Medical Director Dr Harryono Judodihardjo and Nurse Kay Mounter, have joined forces to create a highly-skilled team of qualified medical professionals.

Dr Harry said: “We are all very excited to join an established, leading medical clinic group and I believe that our joint expertise brings a new dimension to what we can offer. The award-winning quality of our service and treatments will by no means be compromised, but can only improve and grow as we embark on this journey with sk:n. We look forward to welcoming back our existing patients, as well as new ones.”

Kally added: “It was lovely to be involved in the opening of Cardiff’s newest sk:n clinic. Their range of treatments is so impressive, and it is great to see such a strong offering in the local area. Having confidence in your skin is so important, and sk:n offers people the chance to boost their confidence in their skin, if that is what they choose to do.”

The clinic underwent a full refurbishment ahead of the re-opening and offers a range of body treatments never before available in a sk:n clinic. These include Pure Tumescent Liposculpture (an efficient, minimal discomfort, quick healing fat removal treatment) and Endermologie Cellulite Treatment (a quick, safe and medically proven cellulite reduction without the need for invasive surgery).

Other exciting offerings at the Charles Street clinic include Tixel, a revolutionary rejuvenation treatment that uses a heated metal plate instead of laser so that the treatment is quicker (around 15-20 minutes) and there’s little to no downtime. The treatment can be used to tighten the skin and improve the appearance of scars and pigmentation. Also on offer is Spectra Laser Peels (a way to achieve the rejuvenating benefits of laser resurfacing or skin peels without the downtime), and Photodynamic Therapy (a highly effective light therapy skin treatment).

There will also be the sk:n core offering of professional skincare and dermatology treatments available, including laser hair removal, dermal fillers, anti-ageing injections, acne treatments and microneedling.
